This quote by Ernest Hemingway about cycling suggests that sweating up the hills symbolizes the effort and commitment required to overcome challenges, while sliding
represents the enjoyment of easier and more pleasant moments.
This concept fully reflects the efforts that our group intends to put into this project, aiming to make people aware of what our territory offers and delving into specific information about the funds used, the methods to obtain them and consulting expert opinions.
We are students from “Pascasino” Linguistic High School, attending the 3l and 4l years and we deeply care about the innovative infrastructure that has become the subject of heated debates in the city of Marsala: the cycle path. Through our commitment and research, we will provide rational information about it.
"Sunset On 2Wheels": that's our name, a metaphor to describe the moment of enjoyment or freedom at the end of a bicycle journey during the sunset. It symbolizes an experience of beauty and serenity on two wheels as the sunset.
One of the projects’ aims is to encourage people to use a practical, economical, and healthy means of transport that also contributes to the care and maintenance of mental health, a sort of "bicycle therapy".
Cycling can help reduce stress, improve mood and promote overall well-being. It's an excellent way to relax and take care of oneself.
The strong point of our cycle path is its proximity to the sea, which also provides several health benefits at physical and mental levels.
But what's more relaxing than a bike ride by the sea? Only one thing: making your city more ecological.
The logo of our team, realized with passion and dedication by our designers, portrays a cyclist riding along the path against a breathtaking background in our city: the salt pans of
Marsala.This marvelous location truly shines during sunset, offering warm colors of the sky and creating a unique atmosphere thanks to the light reflection on the salt pools.
Our goal is to document the pros and cons of the bike path, so we've dedicated numerous online and in-person meetings for researches, discussion and mutual understanding. Our teamwork has revealed perfect; we have established some essential rules to live together harmoniously, such as respect, inclusion, listening skills, communication, interaction and empathy.
What sets us apart is our spirit of cooperation; the outcome of our work comes from the ideas of many young and creative minds, open to the spirit of cohesion and ready to face the challenges of the green and digital transition in an era focused on globalization from the perspective of active citizenship.
"Sunset On 2Wheels" already has a means to progress quickly; now it's up to us to take out the determination needed to be active citizens, not mere spectators in a growing Europe that needs new creative and innovative inputs.
