NOCTUA and STARSCAPE

Introduction:

In the realm of satellite innovation, the NOCTUA project emerge as a pioneer. NOCTUA, led by D-Orbit guidance, envisions a transformative service for satellite data tailored to Lombardy. This groundbreaking initiative promises to monitor urban areas, cultural sites, and natural resources with a high-performance, cost-effective satellite system, bridging accessibility to local administrations and private entities.

On the other celestial front, our STARSCAPE project unfolds. We intend to seek out sponsors and partners who are willing to collaborate and finance this project, as well as advertising it on social media to spread awareness about this fascinating idea. This research is a beacon for everyone residing in the monitored area, offering a comprehensive view of their surroundings.

NOCTUA Project Objectives:

1. Space Segment Development:

   - Objective: Develop a reliable, high-performance, and cost-effective space segment integrating a satellite platform and SAR sensor.

   - Elaboration: Aim for technological excellence to outperform market standards, laying the groundwork for scalability and potential satellite constellation expansion.

2. Downstream Segment Implementation:

   - Objective: Implement a downstream segment utilizing SAR satellite data for infrastructure, land monitoring, and emergency management.

   - Elaboration: Strategically integrate the downstream segment with the space segment for a symbiotic relationship, ensuring accessibility for institutional and commercial entities.

3. End-to-End Service Integration:

   - Ultimate Goal: Seamlessly integrate spatial and downstream segments, delivering cost-effective insights on territories and infrastructures.

   - Elaboration: Forge a modular, scalable end-to-end service catering to diverse needs, emphasizing commercial attractiveness as a cornerstone for project viability.

STARSCAPE Project Highlights:

1. Name and Logo: A clever fusion of "scape" from landscape monitoring and "star" representing the cosmic realm, STARSCAPE's logo, adorned with intertwined 'S's in space-themed hues, symbolizes its mission.

2. Target Audience: The research extends its benefits to all residents within the monitored area.

3. Funding: The total monitored public cost for the Noctua project amounts to €4,937,115.82, with the project progress reaching 60% as of August 31, 2023.
