In the pursuit of data-driven journalism, our focus gravitates towards the noteworthy initiative known as the "Molini del Ponte" project. Originating from our local landscape in Castelvetrano, Sicily, this enterprise specializes in the dynamic intersection of the food and tourism industries.Chosen from the extensive repository of Opencoesione, an open-source platform, the project unfolds as a testament to regional dedication. Sicily, renowned for its rich cultural heritage, culinary excellence, and adherence to the Mediterranean diet, sees the "Molini del Ponte" project as a beacon of local pride. With a substantial fund of €490,000, generously provided by the European Union, the venture commenced on 1st July 2023 and remains an active force in its ongoing pursuit.A pivotal aspect of this project is its primary objective – the incentivization of businesses within our regional boundaries. In the spirit of comprehensive reporting, we embarked on a multifaceted approach to gauge the community's awareness and understanding of the project's nuances.Our investigative endeavors included sourcing data from Opencoesione, a valuable reservoir of open-source information. Additionally, we undertook a proactive initiative within our educational institution, administering a comprehensive questionnaire to both students and faculty. This survey aimed to elucidate the extent of familiarity with the "Molini del Ponte" project and gather insights into the local production dynamics of wheat and flour.The amalgamation of these diverse data streams culminated in the creation of an insightful infographic. This visual representation serves as a concise and informative means to convey the intricacies of the project, offering a holistic view that seamlessly integrates Opencoesione data with the firsthand perspectives gathered from our school community.Accompanied by captivating images that provide a visual narrative of the "Molini del Ponte" project, this article stands as a testament to our commitment to robust data journalism. By marrying quantitative insights with qualitative reflections, we aim to illuminate the multifaceted impact of this initiative on our local economy and community
