The monitoring of the "RURAL VILLAGE COTUGNO" project served to understand how to enhance our territory. The project was born within the European economic planning 2006-2012, through a Campania PSR and involved the construction of a wood-burning oven and the total renovation of the village to encourage the repopulation of the village which was slowly disappearing. We decided to monitor this project because we believe in the territory where we live and we also think that it is a good opportunity to bring together young people and create a new meeting point.

On the OpenCoesione portal the financing is still at 70%, but by interviewing the mayor of Vallesaccarda, the RUP of the project, and visiting the site, we discovered that all the financing has been used and the construction of the work has been completely completed.

We consider it a great opportunity for the young people of the area because it gives them the opportunity to preserve traditions that have lasted for centuries in this area, such as bread making. The rebirth of this village represents a great turning point for the entire municipality of Vallesaccarda because it improves the quality of life and strengthens the relationship of citizens with the place. Furthermore, investing in this area, advertising it on social networks, would be a great initiative to attract tourists and circulate the economy, allowing small local businesses to also benefit.
