Reviving Potenza's Jewel: The Restoration of the Prefect's Villa
Pitch 1:

Our team, known as “The Miracle Workers”, is following the project concerning redeveloping the Prefect’s Villa of Potenza. Our primary aim is to focus on this plan investigating the reasons behind the work's interruption and trying to recommence it, thereby restoring Potenza’s “green heart” to its citizens. In addition, revitalising this area would hold immense potential for the community and provide opportunities for several sports activities. It could become a significant meeting point for young people who want to spend more time in nature and detach from technology, particularly given Potenza’s designation as “Città dei Giovani 2024”.

Pitch 2:

During our expedition, we gathered data concerning the funds allocated for the redevelopment works. Nearly two million euros have been set aside for the renovation of the Villa. The executive project, valued at €1,200,000, includes € 950,000 for requalification efforts, € 65,545.00 for safety measures, € 224,560.00 for institutional support, and € 25,440.00 for essential supplies. The Villa will offer a hub for outdoor activities. In addition, the Province (which owns the asset), the Municipality (which possesses building expertise), the Region (which is the main funding source), and the Superintendence (which provides evaluation) all contribute to the financing of the project. Our first impression suggests a lack of activity at the worksite, also evident from the restricted public access.

Pitch 3:

We are concerned about the slow pace of the work, which severely impedes our ability to monitor the project’s progress effectively. Unfortunately, open data is often unavailable or outdated, limiting our efforts further. Regrettably, we must discontinue our project’s monitoring due to these circumstances. However, we remain committed to staying informed about the redevelopment of the villa. We will follow news updates and reports published on the administrative and governmental websites of the city of Potenza. In addition, we will also propose another interview with the people responsible for managing and overseeing the renewal works. By staying proactive, we aim to maintain a comprehensive understanding of the project’s developments and contribute to its success in any way possible.
