Welcome into our reality and stop in square with us! Our team is made up by a group of students attending Liceo Scientifico Enrico Fermi in Aversa. Our goal: illustrate the monitoring activities for “I Sagrati delle 100 Chiese”, a project picked out from OpenCoesione website. We chose this project because: 1. it took place in Aversa, giving us the chance to promote our territory internationally. 2. Aversa historical centre is an open air gallery but it needs to be evaluated more. 3. We wondered how we could help to make our city broadly appreciated.

Our initial questions- whether the funds are exploited at their best in order to preserve our medieval cultural heritage and to make it shine again; we also wondered whether the rate of citizenship involvement could be considered satisfying.

Pitch 2:

Firstly, we collected data about our project and the policies to implement it. Then, we underwent a phase of data analysis. We found a project similar to ours in Emilia Romagna and proposed it as a model. The funds composition of the two differs drastically: ours are mainly European, those in Reggio E. were mostly town and regional funds; it meant higher involvement of local people and a faster accomplishment. To gather evidence we interviewed the former mayor;the Regione Campania Manager for PO FESR;the CEO of LIRA Costruzioni;Mr Allegro, in charge of Libreria Sociale ‘Il Dono’ and seat of Libera; the former president of Ordine architetti Caserta and a professor of Economics at University Federico II Naples. They all pointed out the low involvement of local people, confirming our thesis.

Pitch 3:

We dream of a reachable reality where Aversa restored spaces satisfy the needs of the citizenship and serve them a functional purpose. Aversa has the potential to fulfill our dreams: palazzo Rebursa could host a museum, the nearby pavilion for classical music could host concerts as in the past. The churchyards could be used better as market squares and gathering points for old and young people. Moreover, our town is rich in sacred art and it could be rightfully included in the art touristic itineraries in Italy; this would lead to an increasing development of our economy. Our intention is to go on monitoring whether events are organized in the spaces renovated within this PO FESR (PICS), living them as active participants and giving them broad resonance among our large community of students
