This year our class takes part in the “ASOC” project. It's the first time that our school is involved in this new experience and we are ready to do our best. We are a very cooperative class! In our first lesson on 30th of November we chose the name “The Dreamers” for our group because we think the involvement of civil society and ordinary people in political and administrative choices can really make a difference by changing the mentality and this already seems to us the realization of a dream.
Significant issues to investigate in our territory:
- Environment and pollution
- Public transport
- Culture and tourism
- Public health
- Jobs opportunities for young people
These are some of the themes that we considered important for our territory. Among these issues we have chosen as a priority the environment. As our territory is particularly polluted we considered the project RIQUALIFICAZIONE ENERGETICA DELL’EDIFICIO MONOBLOCCO DELL’OSPEDALE CIVILE DI ALESSANDRIA. This project is linked to public health, another extremely important issue.
The project was scheduled to start on 04/07/2022, but the actual start was on 07/09/2022. As such it is still ongoing and the end was scheduled on 31/08/2023.
It takes place in the region of Piedmont, in Alexandria, and it was financed by the "European Regional Development Fund (FESR)”.
The main goal of this project is to achieve the reduction of energy consumption in private and public buildings, residential and non-residential and to reach integration of renewable sources.
The figure amounts to €6,512,422.76, of which the donors are the EU, the Spin Fund, the Region and other sources.
The energy redevelopment of the civil hospital of Alessandria is very important, as it is the only hospital in the province, therefore it is important that it is efficient and avoids waste, especially in this period of great pollution. because a hospital provides essential medical care, emergency service, surgeries, specialized treatment and access to healthcare professionals. It serves as a hub for diagnosing illness, treating injuries, conducting surgeries, and managing chronic conditions, ultimately saving lives and promoting public health.
Yesterday was 30/11/2023 and for the first time we met to carry out this activity entitled "Scuola di Open Coesione". Although the weather was not the best, we were not discouraged, indeed, we were more motivated than ever and we couldn’t wait to start this project!
First we were introduced to the theme through the explanation and viewing of video shown to us by the teacher and after obtaining a complete view of the project we divided into groups, each one dedicated to the search for a possible project to be treated. We all concentrated on our job surfing the site “open coesione” to find a programme.
The various projects were divided according to the field of specialization (social, health, public transport, etc.). We thought about some issues important for our territory to be investigated: environment and pollution, public health, public transport,culture and tourism and job opportunities for young people.
To be honest we were a little scared to start this work but when we finally got to work this fear went away and we actually found this project very stimulating. Also, when we heard that we, as a class, were chosen to take part in this programme, we felt very honored. This thought encouraged us to do our best.
In the second meeting on 06/12/2023, each group subsequently proposed its own programme and presented it. After making the final choice of the project, the class began to work as a single group, also punctuated by the good collaborative and organizational ability of the class, it was reached to an agreement on the name of the team, "The Dreamers". The reason for choosing this name was as follows because we believe that these projects, if carried out successfully, can fulfill people’s dreams. The various members of the class were divided with the aim of performing different tasks such as project managers, storytellers, designers, social media and PR, Analyst, Blogger, Coder and Scout. Soon the designers of the team dedicated themselves to the creation of the logo.
On 18/12/2023 the designers exhibited the various models of the logo and the one most approved by the class was chosen . Subsequently, we all went on with our work according to the assigned roles.. We also decided to take some pictures during the development of this work to really capture what this is about and the impact that it had on us as individuals. We also wanted to decorate the class, and thanks to the help of the teacher we made a billboard with all of the pictures we took.
Now we’re going to tell you a little something about the project that we’re going to deal with. It is called "energy redevelopment of the monobloc building of the civil hospital". The project was scheduled to start on 04/07/2022, but the actual start was on 07/09/2022. As such it is still ongoing and the end was scheduled on 31/08/2023.
