After last year's pilot, successfully completed and with the approval of the European Commission, At the School of OpenCohesion #ASOCEU is strengthened in Catalonia, with the participation of 10 schools and 15 team-classes involved, three times the number of teams who had taken part in the previous edition.
Growing numbers that confirm the strong interest in a project now recognized as one of the best practices in Europe in the field of civic monitoring of cohesion policy and digital civic education, which in Catalonia benefits from the commitment and expertise of the Office for transparency and Open Government within the Department of Foreign Affairs, Institutional Relations and Transparency of the regional Government.
During the first educational webinar, held last December 16th, which was also attended by the Italian ASOC team, the teachers improved their knowledge to start the first didactic step “Design” with their respective students, as well as learning the fundamental notions on cohesion policy - with a focus on the Catalan territorial context - and on the main source of data on projects funded by cohesion policy in Catalonia, the Dades Obertes web portal.
At the School of OpenCohesion is also promoted this year by the European Commission among the Member States that took part in the 2019-2020 pilot project (Croatia, Greece, Portugal, Spain).
