Participation in the 2019-2010 edition of At the School of OpenCohesion (ASOC) is open to high schools that meet the requirements specified in the 2019-2020 ASOC Ministry of Education circular (in Italian).
How to submit application
To submit to ASOC1920, teachers must sign up as ASOC main teachers with the website, then use the specific online application form. .
Applications must be submitted by no later than 18:00 on Monday, 21 October 2019,
The research works carried out by the teams during the school year are to be evaluated by a commission, according to multiple criteria related to the analytical and communicative quality of the outputs, the scope of the challenges taken on, and observance of the rules of conduct throughout the educational programme.
The schools presenting the best projects are awarded with:
- an educational trip to Brussels to visit European institutions, funded by the European Commission;
- a guided tour of the Italian Senate in Rome, featuring the opportunity to witness a session of the Assembly and participate in a workshop on the use of regulatory inquiries;
- visits to European institutions in Brussels within the scope of international trials of the project by the European Commission’s DG REGIO (see ASOC in Europe).
Additional awards will be offered by the Regional governments partnering with the project to the schools within their territory that stand out for their performance. Other awards and acknowledgements may become available after the start of this edition of the ASOC project and will be published on this site.
There will be specific awards for the territorial networks that stand out for their support of the schools participating in the project, including: participation in training and other events related to the ASOC themes; the provision of books and magazine subscriptions; or technology.

ASOC, a sustainable project
With the goal of reducing the project’s environmental impact and energy footprint by way of best practices in green initiatives, ASOC will be requiring participating teams and their support networks to comply with specific practices in environmental sustainability throughout the educational programme.
