OBJECTIVES

In this lesson, the Team learns quantitative and qualitative research techniques, from data research and analysis to field exploration. The Team organizes an on-site monitoring visit, in order to verify  the progress of the chosen project, even through interviews with the project’s key people (e.g. implementing bodies) and, meetings with institutions. After, the Team processes the collected data and information and write a monitoring report using Monithon, the independent civic monitoring platform (https://www.monithon.eu/it/).

What are the steps?

  • Learn the principal research methods and the distinction between primary and secondary data

  • Deepen, through an interview with an expert, the meaning of data reuse, administrative transparency and related rules.

  • Know Statistics, what it is for citizens and civic monitoring, introduced by an expert from Istat

  • Learn how to refine and analyse data, with insights into artificial intelligence, coding and scraping.

  • Know civic monithoring and Monithon platform

  • Learn the most suitable tools to visualize the collected data

  • Plan and tell about your monitoring visit.
