Talk about your research

Let's save the drop.

Our civic monitoring will deal with the project Opencoesione called "LICATA - WORKS FOR THE RATIONALISATION OF THE MUNICIPAL WATER SYSTEM - REPLACEMENT OF THE OLD OR DAMAGED WATER MAINS". We will focus our attention on the municipal water system in Licata, our town because over the years we have always had trouble with poor water supply.
Our team chose the name 'Save the Drop' because it fits with the title of the project carried out . The project concerns works on the local water supply network. Moreover, the issue of the lack of water has always existed and has a detrimental effect on various sectors of life and economy, including agriculture, farming and tourism.
The logo, with shades of light blue, depicts a tap from which a drop of water flows, on a background representing the geographical grid of the planet Earth to show the 'water' emergency in our territorial context. The team consists of students coming from different classes: Project managers( Giulia Bona, Angelo Sferrazza), Storytellers (Veronica Oliveri, Giada Messina, Davide Rizzo), Coders (Alessia Alesci, Angela Alabiso, Simona Cannizzaro, Angela Sitibondo, Silvia Mulè), Analysts (Giuseppe Alesci, Samuele Mazzerbo, Giorgia Cammilleri), Social Media Managers (Vincenzo Vittorioso, Jennypher Falsone, Mario Carrozza), Designers (Tommaso Greco, Miriam Controversio, Morena Truisi).
The project we are monitoring was financed with 3.955.431,62 € as we found out from the official website Opencoesione. The contextual information will be searched on websites, portals, online newspapers, interviews. The aim of our monitoring is to let people raise their awareness  about the preciousness of water in their lives. They could be encouraged not to waste it, to find ways to recycle it. Moreover, it could also encourage the administration to improve the water mains in our town. People will be better informed about the water emergency also related to the increasing global warming. Our research could make citizens be aware of public and European funds.
We will involve experts on the theme, like people who work for the company which manages the water service. In order to engage our citizens we will organize a photo exhibition and a talk in the City Council, surveys and interviews.
