We are 4^Q class attending the Human Sciences course of studies with a focus on the socio-economic area; our high school is called Manfredo Fanti and it located in Carpi, in the province of Modena, in the North of Italy. There are 20 students in our class, 17 girls and 3 boys. The values that guide us in this project are accuracy, research and passion; not surprisingly they are the same as the company that we have selected as the object of our investigation. The research we have chosen is based on the project “La moda made in Carpi”; in particular, we have decided to focus on the company “Ulisse Fashion Art Details SRL”, based in our city. This company was born in Carpi, the heart of the Emilian textile district; in 2011 they inaugurated a new branch in China and a sales department in Hong Kong. Nowadays it has over 25.000 products in stock, mainly jewelry and lace. The choice to analyze this activity is due to the fact that Carpi is famous especially for its textile industries, such as the Blumarine, Champion, Twin-Set, Liu-Jo and Gaudì brands. Seen that fashion is one of the leading sectors for the Italian economy, we thought it could be interesting to work on this theme. The participation in the project ASOC 2022-2023 was facilitated also by the nature of our school ‘journey’: this branch of studies already guides us towards a data analysis path for the industries and for this reason we thought that this project was the best for us. Finally, we did a survey in class from which a universal interest in the fashion and textile industry emerged, therefore we took the decision to analyze the data of this company.
The name of our logo come from the union of several words: our class 4^Q, the English word “Quest” which means research and the word “d4t4” to refer to the research of data. For its creation we were inspired by the colors representing our school, tangerine orange, light green and dark green. You can immediately notice the precise and clear lines, which reflect our determination; the circularity of the shapes symbolizes our spirit of collaboration and the unity of the class, besides a sense of infinity. The logo was actually made by two of our classmates: one of the two girls had the idea, the other designed and depicted it. The work requested by the project ASOC 2022-2023 was divided between the components of the class during the class lessons. Initially we were introduced to the project in which we are participating, with the explanation of what we should do.This was followed by the assignment of roles among the classmates and the division of the class into groups so that each of us could give his/her help in the final elaboration. Some of us, for example, took care of the creation and management of social media; another group was in charge of graphic and aesthetic look, the bloggers have taken care of expressing everything we have done in writing on social media. The goals that we set with the implementation of this project are: getting involved with other countries, so as to grow individually but also as a class, improving our English fluency, developing skills useful skills for future jobs and reflect on the entrepreneurial competence. Our research work is meant to support the European Union in monitoring the correct and effective use of the funds allocated. Numerous professionals (from ISTAT, business journalists, fashion bloggers etc.) will support us in our activities of ‘research-action’.In conclusion, we are ready to confront other schools and realities at European level in order to enrich our skills and grow as conscious citizens, able to cope with complexity and change.
