Talk about your research

If you want to swim between the houses... you have to go to Trapani!

We, students of 3F, would like to present you the project we have chosen. After strenuous research, it is the following: “Trapani’s public works office - hydraulic control works of the area of SALINA GRANDE (TRAPANI E PACECO territory)”. We decided to analyse this project because it’s about a problem that harms all of Trapani’s territories; this project was started in 2013 and finished in 2015, but, as we have seen in the last few months, unfortunately it doesn’t work at all. Our intent is to send the authorities the message that the citizens get annoyed if they have to restart their lives from zero every time it rains a little more and especially the little entrepreneurs are subjected to big damage. We would like to be interviewed by the local news to let people know who we are, so our message can arrive to the others. In Trapani, the first episode of flooding, happened on the 09/26/2022, but there have been other events like that. Especially the first time, Fardella street, Trapani’s main street, was completely flooded and water pressure broke some shop doors letting the water in. To play down the situation a guy crossed Fardella street using a dinghy, he recorded himself and the video became viral. The name of our team is “Swimming in the rain”, it refers to the famous musical “Singin’ in the rain” and we have changed singin’ into swimming, so that it can remind people of our main theme.

We formed a team and thus divided the roles:

•          Project manager/Head of research: Mario Pavia, Mariangela Coppola, Debora Favuzza

•          Social media manager: Mariangela Coppola, Giada Genovese, Giorgia Pellegrino, Federica Cimino, Giulia Dell’Ajira, Giulia Barbara, Sara Poma, Francesco Oddo

•          Designer: Antonio Galuppo, Flavio Grammatico, Leandra Genovese, Sofia Renda, Paolo Ditta

•          Storyteller: Giulia de Vita, Beatrice Dei Bardi, Giulia Valenti, Davide Schifano, Matteo Gianquinto, Alessandro Bonagiusa, Andrea Castelli

•          Analist e Coder: Mario Pavia, Mariangela Coppola, Giorgia Pellegrino, Giulia de Vita, Anna Castiglione, Giada Mancuso

•          Blogger: Anna Castiglione, Daniele Asta, Nadia Giallo, Giulia Dell’Ajira

The choice of the logo took us long because there were so many ideas to take into account, but we picked the most significative and impactful one. The towers, which are the symbol of Trapani, are submerged, thus they remind of all the floods that have happened. The boy represents all of us, trying to face the situation.
